“On motion of [Assistant Attorney General] E. M. Hall, the fifth [sic — sixth] woman to be admitted to practice in Montana was given that privilege today by the supreme court. The applicant was Miss Annie Marie Lambert who came to Montana from St. Paul and who will open an office in Missoula. Miss [sic — Mr.] Hall presented recommendations from Associate Justice O’Brien and District Judges Hallan and Britt of St. Paul [before whose courts she practiced for three years in St. Paul].”

“The first case to be tried in the new courthouse by a woman attorney was that of Eva McPhail against Roland J. McPhail, decided yesterday afternoon by the granting of a divorce to the plaintiff, whose representative was Miss Lambert. The action was based on the ground of non-support and desertion.”

“. . . . The Missoula Abstract company consists of a woman abstractor and her woman clerk. Miss Annie Lambert, the abstractor, was born in Belgium, coming to this country when a small child. Her father was an abstract lawyer in Minneapolis, and she worked in his office when she was 15 years old. Miss Lambert is a graduate of the Minnesota law school, and has lived in Missoula some 15 years. She has practically all the abstract work of this county and is considered excellent. . . .”
